The Cecilia Grierson Foundation was created fourteen years ago by a group of female physicians looking to improve the quality of life of the community in the southeast Buenos Aires province through health education. Through a strategic alliance with various public and private institutions and organizations, a program was developed for the early detection of breast cancer. By utilizing volunteers to gather information from patients who are shepherded through the alliance and its services, information can be obtained with the purpose of obtaining epidemiological data as well as achieving the ultimate goal of breast cancer prevention.
