Calendar Sales for HIV/AIDS
HUESPED FOUNDATION
The Huesped Foundation procured the support of thirteen well-known Argentinean personalities as faces for a calendar containing HIV/AIDS information and prevention messages. Gaby Herbstein, a prestigious photographer, also lent her professional support by volunteering to take the pictures. Local businesses covered all costs of producing the calendar in exchange for acknowledgement in the calendar. Organizers launched the calendar at a large local museum that gathered over 3000 people to participate. The photographed celebrities further helped spread the calendar’s AIDS awareness message by agreeing to autograph and promote the calendar. This was mainly accomplished via a widely watched TV special that reached over 1.5 million people. Organizers displayed the calendar effectively in a prominent shopping center for over 2 months, reaching another 1.5 million people. Large and accessible companies such as Yenny, Pepsi, and Blockbuster also agreed to set up points of sales and distribution of the calendar.
