HUMAN AND CULTURAL REVIVAL ORGANIZATION

The Human and Cultural Revival Organization seeks to provide alternative sources of income for local communities by utilizing local resources and folk wisdom to promote eco-tourism in 11 village communities located in Pai River Valley, Mae Hong Sorn.

This organization works to mobilize the community by creating a network of local enterprises in the form of tourist service cooperatives. Through joint shareholding in these enterprises, the organization can generate income and allocate a part of net profit to provide working capital for community development projects. As villagers gain more self-confidence and come to recognize the value of their heritage in terms of natural resources and traditional folk wisdom, they become more committed to the task of reviving and preserving local resources and culture.
